Abstract
The optically high quality organic 2-amino 4,6-dimethyl pyrimidine 4-nitrophenol (AMP4N) single crystals were successfully grown by slow evaporation solution technique (SEST) using methanol as solvent for the first time. The structure of the grown AMP4N single crystal was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction (SXRD) analysis. The optical transmittance, band gap and Urbach band tail energy of the AMP4N crystal were obtained by UV-Vis NIR spectrum analysis. The photoluminescence (PL) study was carried out to find out the luminesce properties. The photoconductivity studies reveal that the AMP4N crystal has positive photoconductive nature. Dielectric constant and loss of the grown AMP4N crystal were studied. The Z-scan technique was used to find the third order nonlinear susceptibility (χ(3)) of AMP4N crystal using solid state laser at the wavelength of 532 nm.
