The composition, structure, substructure, and physicomechanical properties of hafnium diboride films deposited by nonreactive rf magnetron sputtering are studied by X-ray diffraction (including photographic recording) and electron microscopy. The results obtained are analyzed, and the film growth kinetics is revealed.
