Abstract

SummaryGrowth hormone in a dose which regularly leads to hyperglycemia and glycosuria in normal tube-fed rats has no such effect in saline or DOCA maintained tube-fed adrenalectomized rats. Treatment with sub-diabetogenic doses of cortisol restores the hyperglycemic response to growth hormone in adrenalectomized rats. These results are compared to previous studies of growth hormone effects in adrenalectomized cats and dogs.
