Abstract

Art and science collide in a show at The Wellcome Trust's Two10 Gallery, London, as winning works from The Biomedical Image Awards 2001 are exhibited interwoven with work by young contemporary artists who have drawn inspiration from research. The show, which examines how scientific thinking can influence contemporary art, and how art can be seen in today's scientific imaging, includes stunning research images (chromosomes dividing in breast cancer cells, shown above) and installation pieces by eight contemporary artists.
