Abstract
Inter-regional interaction in relation to the development of growth centres will be useful in seeing the development of a region in the future. This is because the development of a region is inseparable from the existence of growth centres that function as the starting point of regional development. The development of growth centres and their interactions can stimulate land use development, supporting infrastructure development, and future regional development. This research discusses and examines the process of the formation of growth centres in Maja Urban Area (MUA), Indonesia which is the study area and the regional interactions that occur there. This research is analysing the interaction between growth centre in MUA. This objective is achieved by analysing the urban service first. This research uses the scalogram method in determining the centre of urban growth and uses a gravity model approach assisted by ArcGIS application in assessing inter-regional interactions that occur. The results show that the largest regional interaction occurs between the growth centre of Maja and Curug Badak, which in this case falls into order 1 and 2.
