Abstract

SynopsisA single irrigation, applied at the beginning of flowering, improved the lint yield of cotton by increasing boll size and number of bolls. An earlier or later irrigation, applied at the initiation of flower‐bud formation or at the peak of flowering, was less effective. The later irrigation, however, resulted in bigger bolls and longer and more mature lint.
