Abstract

Cadmium zinc telluride single crystal is a kind of promising photorefractive material at near-infrared wavelengths. The difficult of cadmium zinc telluride crystal growth leads to that there are always lots of precipitates or inclusions in the crystal ingots. These precipitates or inclusions will affect the electro-optic properties of cadmium zinc telluride crystal. This paper reports how to grow high quality cadmium zinc telluride crystal with low precipitate or inclusion density through controlling the cadmium partial pressure in the growing quartz ampoule.
