Abstract

Pb x Ca 1- x MoO 4, Cd x Ca 1- x MoO 4, Pb(WO 4) - x (MoO 4) x , and Cd(WO 4) 1- x (MoO 4) x mixed crystals were grown. In most cases the Czochralski method was used, but for Cd x Ca 1- x MoO 4 the Bridgman method had to be applied in a certain composition range. Growth parameters and results as well as variations of lattice parameters and shift of short wavelength cut off with crystal composition are reported. The influence of cation and anion substitution on the optical properties is discussed.
