Abstract

AbstractZn1–x–yBexMgySe mixed crystals were grown from the melt by the high pressure Bridgman method. Photoluminescence and photoluminescence‐excitation spectra were measured and the origin of luminescence in Zn1–x–yBexMgySe was discussed. Photothermal properties were investigated with photoacoustic method. From the spectral dependence of the amplitude and phase of photoacoustic signal as well as from photoluminescence spectra the values of energy gap were determined. The influence of surface preparation on photoacoustics data was investigated and discussed. (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
