Abstract

The single crystals of tris thiourea lanthanum chloride (TTLaC) have been grown by solution growth using slow evaporation technique. The optical study revealed that the title compound crystal has high transmission with lower cut off wavelength of 237.97nm. The EDAX analysis confirmed the grown compound elements. The crystal structure and lattice parameters of the grown crystal were determined by single crystal X-ray Diffraction. The crystallinity of the crystal is confirmed by powder XRD. The presence of functional groups were identified through Fourier transform-infrared technique. The thermal stability of the crystal was determined from thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis curve. The second harmonic generation behavior of TTLaC crystal was tested by Kurtz–Perry powder technique.
