Abstract

This senior thesis argues for the need for an increased role of Asian-American studies centered pedagogy and educational programming. At the heart of my thesis are concerns that come from my own experiences in in secondary and post-secondary education in the United States. As an Asian-American millennial, I have personally experienced the dearth of this dearth of representation. Ultimately, my thesis project connects my personal journal through the U.S. educational system with past struggles of Asian-Americans throughout history to highlight the importance of an Asian-American Studies centered pedagogy for students like me — as well as young adults in general.
