Summary

Introduction

Peru’s population is aging rapidly under contexts of extreme poverty and deep social disparities. These 335 residents comprise a significant 34% of the total population of abandoned elderly adults in Lima, making this shelter the largest institution in the country that helps men and women experiencing social risk in old age.
