Individuals and groups may have seen this as part of their 2020 participation in the Anesthesia Quality Institute National Anesthesia Clinical Outcomes Registry (AQI NACOR) Qualified Registry or Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR), as part of a different MIPS registry, or from a direct notification from CMS. Regardless, individuals and groups should make sure that their quality measure data is complete, documented, and readily available should they encounter an audit. Unfortunately, the added emphasis on auditing may surprise some who have viewed MIPS reporting as another “check-the-box” sort of program.
