Abstract

ABSTRACT Chronic, complex dissociative disorders are almost always accompanied by extensive comorbidity, including a range of different addictions. These can be treated within a multimodal treatment approach that includes group therapy. The author describes the principles and techniques of group therapy with this population based on 16 years of experience in a hospital-based trauma program. Vignettes of composite therapeutic conversations are included in the description of trauma model therapy.
