Abstract
This paper analyzes the problems in group technology (GT) and computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) and provides suggestions on part classification and coding, developing computer-aided design (CAD) and production planning (CAPP) in a GT environment, integrating GT-based CAD and CAPP, and the relations between GT, CAPP and computer-aided production management (CAPM).
