Abstract

IN AN observational study of friendship and quarreling forty 30-second observations ofthe type of activity, the companions, the degree of social participation according to the categories used by Parten (1), and whether or not the social contact resulted in a quarrel were obtained on the children in the nursery school of the Minnesota Institute of Child Welfare.' The results were first grouped on a large master sheet.
