Abstract

This paper studies the meson masses containing heavy flavour quark (anti-quark) with light flavour combination. The considered potential is Coulomb as well as linear confining terms. Also, an improved form of the hyperfine interaction is introduced. The ground state masses (J=0 and J=1) of heavy mesons and magnetic moments of heavy mesons with J=1 using the effective mass of the confined quarks are computed. The obtained results are very close to the ones obtained in experiments or in other works. Key words: Confining potential, hyperfine interaction, Heavy mesons.
