Abstract

The leading finite-size effects in the description of the antiferromagnetic ground state of 1D quantum s= 1/2 chains with non-nearest-neighbour short-range exchange are calculated in the framework of the asymptotic Bethe-ansatz method under a few general assumptions on the properties of scattering phases and energies of magnons.
