Abstract

The authors propose a ground-based interferometric radar for terrain elevation mapping. The radar is of the continuous-wave step-frequency (CW-SF) type and it operates by synthesising pairs of microwave holographic images taken at different antenna heights to obtain elevation maps by phase comparison.
