Abstract
The grotesque body is the belching, farting, gluttonous, lusting, creative, procreative body; it is a body having sex, giving birth, being born, eating and shitting, living and dying; it is the body of the marketplace (as distinct from the market) and it is the popular body (as distinct from the official body).
