Abstract

Abstract Inner-city megaprojects have ambitious goals: high-quality urban planning, mixed-use structures, and, of course, profits. at the same time, the implementation of these projects is a challenge for the public sector because of complex market mechanisms, limited financial and personnel resources and highly differentiated interests among the actors involved. This issue of disP discusses inner-city urban renaissance megaprojects and their areas of conflict as well as their success factors against the background of urban governance and urban geography. The papers cover a variety of aspects ranging from real estate economics to policy analysis, power structures and public participation.
