Abstract

Patients with a retained foreign body are a common scenario in healthcare setting. In patients who inject drugs, chances of self-implantation are common. Retained foreign body may lead to cellulitis, deep tissue infections, sinus, restriction of joint movements, necrotizing fasciitis, osteomyelitis or formation of a tumor-like mass.
