Abstract
Guy F. Atkinson Construction Company of South San Francisco recently completed construction of the 20.2 MW Grizzly Hydropower Project, which was commissioned in November, 1993 after three years of seasonal work. Design and construction management was provided by the northern California utility giant, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). This article details contractual issues, geology, TBM tunnel drive, gripper thrust, and final support.
