Abstract
Grillage-free foundations of cast-in-place piles for multistory apartments enable us to: 1) eliminate deformation of buildings constructed on soils prone to slump-type settlement and softening in water; 2) mechanize operations involving site preparation and substructure installation to the maximum; 3) reduce labor outlays and metal consumption, and shorten the time required for construction; 4) utilize the area under construction economically; and, 5) eliminate the effect of seasonality in performing work associated with site preparation and substructure installation.
