Abstract
An investigation of the catalogues of the major X-ray equipment suppliers in the United States showed that while all manufacturers provide information on grid ratio and strip density, only one gives specifications for grid weight. The author feels that this is unfortunate because this descriptor is an excellent indicator of both the clinical value of the grid for enhancing contrast and the radiographic exposure factors required for a particular grid.
