The Grey Parrot Anatomy Project is a collaborative effort to define the anatomy of one bird (Psittacus erithacus erithacus), utilize and develop new imaging technology that can potentially be used on any species including humans, collaborate with multiple scientific disciplines and share the data. This presentation will highlight the Project, demonstrate some of the new technology developed and show how the information is being utilized to better understand anatomy and diagnose and treat disease in multiple species. The Project has been funded by private donations and has been centered at the University of Utah. Many collaborators at other institutions and clinical practices have contributed to and/or benefited from the Project.
