Abstract
The article analyzes the role of the famous leader of the Socialist Revolutionary Party G.A. Gershuni in organizing and carrying out terrorist acts on the territory of the Russian Empire in the early XX century. The article had been suggested that the ideology of political terrorism of radical leftist groups reflected not only the profound socio-economic and political contradictions of late Russian imperial autocracy, but was the result of an exacerbation of the Jewish problem in the country, the crisis of national identity of representatives of Russian-Jewish intellectuals.
