Abstract

This paper derives the Green's function for the bending problem of a thin plate with an elliptic hole under a bending heat source. First, the complex variable method is developed for the thermoelastic problem of bending. Then an exact solution in explicit form is derived for the Green's function by using the complex variable method. Results are presented with distributions of temperature moment, heat flux moments, and bending moments along the hole edge in figures.
