Abstract

Abstract Morocco, occupying a strategic bridge between Northwest Africa and Europe, has a climate similar to California and Northern Mexico. Horticulturally, Morocco is best known as a source of winter vegetables and citrus for Europe, but the development of a plastic greenhouse industry has catalyzed the export industry. Most of Morocco’s tomato exports are produced in unheated plastic greenhouses. The development of bananas under plastic is a unique achievement of Moroccan horticulture.
