Abstract

We evaluate the impact mechanism between global real economic activities and greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs). First, we find a feedback relationship between global real economic activities and GHGs. However, we find that only reduced global real economic activities can significantly decrease GHGs, while both increases and decreases in GHGs have an impact on global real economic activities. Furthermore, the effects of global real economic activities on GHGs are long-lasting, while the reverse direction is relatively less persistent. Therefore, this paper may provide insights into sustainable economic development related to GHGs and real global economic activities.
