Abstract

Urbanisation and population growth have amplified the strain on potable water supply, increasing the need for wastewater treatment and reuse. Green wall for greywater treatment and reuse is novel on-site water treatment technology that can offers multiple benefits to its immediate environment (cooling, thermal and noise isolation, amenity, etc.), but has received little attention up to date. This work focuses on designing efficient greywater treatment green wall system, by focusing on optimising each green wall element (media, plants, design), understanding various operational conditions, water needs and pollutant treatment performance of these systems and overall discovering the best green wall design.
