Abstract

This paper presents the green synthesis of a terpolymer resin by using the microwave irradiation technique. The resin have been prepared by condensing thymol and guanidine hydrochloride with formaldehyde in 2M HCl using 1:1:2 molar proportions of the reacting monomers in 15 minutes. The synthesized terpolymer resin was purified and then characterized by different spectral methods like 1 H-NMR, FT-IR, and UV-visible to elucidate the structure of the obtained TGF resin.
