Abstract

In the present work, hierarchical HZSM-5 zeolites with SiO2/Al2O3 ratios of low to 30 are synthesized via a modified steam-assisted crystallization (SAC) process without using sodium hydroxide. The results showed that sucrose is an effective template for the formation of hierarchical HZSM-5 zeolites, and possessed large meso/macroporous volume of >0.32 cm3 g−1. The results also showed that the synthesized hierarchical HZSM-5 zeolites exhibited better catalytic stability than microporous HZSM-5 in dimethyl ether steam reforming (DME SR).
