Green economy and sustainable development: an overview of the present and prospects in Russia

Abstract

This study examines a relatively new concept for Russia, the concept of a green economy and the implementation of its elements in the economic complex of the country. The object of the research is the concept of green economy and sustainable development as the main mechanism of social and economic changes in the concept of green economy. The subject of the study is the socio-economic space of Russia and the manifestation of the principles of the green economy in it. The concept of green economy in foreign practice is not a new field of economic knowledge (the middle of the last century). The novelty of this concept in Russia is explained by lower level of integration of national economic systems into world economic systems. At the same time, the importance of the content of the states of the green economy and sustainable development cannot be underestimated. The purpose of the study is to reveal the content of the green economy and the elements of sustainable development in the socio-economic system of Russia. To achieve the purpose of the study we used a methodology based on an economic and statistical approach conditioned by generally recognized methods of scientific cognition: analysis, comparison, integration, analogy, etc. The results of the study are expressed in the disclosure of the content and form of the states of the green economy as a field of economic knowledge and the implementation of the concept of sustainable development in the present and future periods in Russia.
