Abstract

Our work represents the investigations about the green and red upconversion (UC) emission bands in detail which is emitted from the Er3+ ions doped TeO2-Pb3O4-TiO2 (i.e. TPTiO) glasses upon 808 nm laser diode excitations. All the glass samples were prepared by using the classical melting and quenching technique. In order to optimize the UC emission properties of Er3+ ions, the authors have recorded the UC at various concentrations. The observed slope values from the log – log plot between pump powers and their corresponding UC emission intensities of green and red bands explain the actual number of photons that play the important role in the UC emission mechanism. On the basis of our investigations, it has been concluded that the reported materials can be used for bright green display device technology.
