Abstract

This Feature summarizes the advances in green chemistry education during the last 25 years and highlights some new strategies being developed to support curricular reform at the undergraduate level. The infusion of green chemistry into the curriculum has enabled educators to improve lab safety, address facilities limitations, and modernize the chemistry curriculum. Strategic partnerships and investments in rapid dissemination and capacity building supported the development of early educational materials and the development of networks of educators interested in collaborative efforts to transform chemistry education. The first section illustrates the breadth of the achievements of the educational community and highlights approaches that provide inspiration for the development of successful educational materials and resources.
