Abstract

Creation of 3D objects and scenes is ever an interesting multimedia approach. Even more when design of such object and scenes could be generated automatically using just a text description. In this work, we present a novel approach to a software program for generating 3D objects/scenes from natural language [3, 18, 20] input text in Greek language. The primary aim of this work is to help everyone not familiar with 3D computer design software, to product 3D scenes in a simple way, through an automatic process. This software approach (GLOReSS - Greek Language Object Representation Scene System) uses a scene description expressed with text in Greek language and converts it to X3D objects (graphic objects expressed with X3D - an XML variation) and scenes. Only some basic 3D objects are required since the system can create more complex objects and scenes by using already constructed objects. Our approach utilizes ellipsis resolution [26, 27] for elliptical verb and elliptical prepositional phrases.
