Abstract

The 2lst Congress of the CPSU has adopted a grand program for the further development of our country's productive forces and for achieving a level of production, a degree of mechanization and automation, and a growth of labor productivity which will enable our country to considerably raise the well-being of the people and make a decisive step in building up the material and technical base of communism in the current Seven-Year Plan. In summing up the results of the work of fulfilling the decisions of the 21st Party Congress the July (1960) Plenary Meeting of the Party Central Committee once again pointed out the fact that the basic problem of the current Seven-Year Plan - to win maximum time in the peaceful economic competition between socialism and capitalism - could be solved only through accelerating in every possible way the rate of technological progress and on this basis the growth of labor productivity.
