Abstract

This paper assess the effects of the 18th Amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan on the Education Sector, in light of the changing political dynamics of the Imran Khan's government. Despite the devolution of Education as a subject matter post the 18th Amendment, the Federal Government has desired some control to enact ‘equitable, inclusive, integrating and nationalist’ policy measures. PTI’s Federal Government and provincial leadership in Punjab, KPK open a policy window for a new policy enacting greater control. However, Sindh and Baluchistan might be left behind because of power politics. Considering this political arena, this paper aims to oppose the Federal Government’s desire because of its socio-cultural, political and legal consequences. The changing policy dynamics are studied under the light of the Multiple Streams Framework and the Narrative Policy Framework, while expected change in the roles of the institutions and the policy entrepreneurs is also explained in the latter parts of the essay.
