Back in 1998, the Association for Vascular Access (AVA) was known to the outside world as the National Association of Vascular Access Networks. That year, I worked at the registration desk for the Scientific Meeting, which had the theme: “Navigating Your Way Through Vascular Access.” The passion in this group was infectious. I was hooked. I write this message now as AVA's Chief Operations Officer and look back in amazement at all that we have accomplished together: Nearly 4000 members, 1500+ conference attendees (and 2 sets of twins for me) later—we are all part of the AVA Story. The theme of the 2019 AVA Annual Scientific Meeting is “Great Stories.” Great stories do begin at AVA.
