Abstract

In recent years the National Science Foundation has recognized the plight of the academically talented high school student in science and mathematics. In some states there are many small high schools with a limited curriculum, no grouping, and sparse amounts of supplies and equipment. These observations were common in some Iowa high schools, particularly those with 50-250 students.
