Davis Abstract In this preliminary study, four-color observations have been obtained of blue horizontal-branch stars in the globular clusters M3, M4, M13, M55, and M92. Surface gravities computed for 35 stars of Populations I and II by means of photoelectric scans or high-dispersion spectra have been used to calibrate c0 against log g. For bright stars, log g can be computed from the ( c0, log g)-relation with a probable error of + 0.18 in the log. The (log g, 0 )-rdation for BHB stars in M4, M55, and M92 is similar to that found for NGC 6397 by Newell, Rodgers, and Searle. The BHB stars in M3 and M13 have log g's which are about 0.3 smaller than BHB stars in the other clusters studied.
