Abstract

The paper considers the dynamics of a satellite gravitational orientation system with gyrodamping. A general scheme of location of one or two gyroscopes in the satellite body is investigated. The conditions of existence of the satellite equilibrium position in the orbital coordinate system in a circular orbit have been obtained, and its stability has been investigated.Parameters of the system are found which ensure not only the asymptotic stability of the equilibrium position but also a maximum rate of the damping of the satellite-gyroscope system’s free oscillations.
