Abstract
The Gamow-Teller hypothesis, according to which an exchange of neutrino pairs could give rise to a gravitational type potential between nucleons, is re-examined. By introducing a new boson field it is shown that this guess cannot be valid at least in the frame of the usual linear field theories.
