Abstract

This manuscript describes code modifications in the crystal orientation mapping tool MTEX 5.1.1–MATLAB which converts plain images of grain maps into interactive ones, enabling simultaneous graphically assisted data subsetting by grain selection and corresponding pole figure plotting. The work also represents a guideline for the further development of personalized graphically assisted functionalities concerning electron backscatter diffraction-type data post-processing in a MTEX–MATLAB environment, addressing materials scientists with average knowledge in computing.
