Abstract

Recent developments in combining symbolic, numeric, and graphics computing techniques in an integrated environment are described. These are: (1) symbolic derivation of numerical code for finite-element analysis; (2) automatic numeric code generation based on derived formulas; (3) generation of parallel code; and (4) graphical user interfaces for mathematical systems. Several software packages are also described.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
