Abstract

A nomogram has been drawn for rapid estimation of the thickness of biological samples corresponding to the particular photographic density, accelerating beam potential, slope of the photographic plate and density of the particular sample. It has been found that, for TMV particles, when the photographic density is 0.1034 relative to background, beam potential is 60 KV, slope of the Ilford Process photographic plate is 2.8 and density of the sample is 1.37, the thickness of the particle is 146 Å.
