Perumal* Organic Chemistry Division, Central Leather Research Institute, Adyar, Chennai, India Acetylation of 9‐alkylcarbazoles with acetic anhydride catalyzed by PPh3·HClO4 was reported to give acetylcarbazoles and carbazole aldehydes with Vilsmeier reagent under MW conditions.
