Abstract
AbstractThe cover picture shows a photograph of orange blossoms inset amongst cross‐sections of citrus slices. It is well established that citrus fruits are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber that are essential for nutritional well being. Recent studies indicate that some of the health benefits of citrus consumption are derived from biologically active, non‐nutrient compounds called limonoids that can also help to reduce the risk of many chronic diseases. The structural complexity of many limonoid natural products has bestowed upon them a reputation as a “problem child” for synthetic organic chemists. However, a few brilliant scientific endeavors in this field have been described. Details are presented in the Microreview by B. Heasley on p. 19 ff. Mike Malaska and Holly Heasley are gratefully acknowledged for helping to design and produce this cover picture.
