Abstract

The actual electrical power system are represented by the equipment’s graphic symbols in management system. The standardization of graphic symbol modeling and management is important for the software’s applicability. In this paper, a novel graphic symbol modeling standard is proposed. Three levels: graphics of equipment, equipment group and typical station diagrams are contained in the standard. For better management, equipment groups can be treated as one unit and have their own graphic symbols and properties. Then, the modification of the graphic symbols is discussed for graphic symbol management. In order to avoid connection errors in the wiring diagrams, topology verification and electrical verification are proposed to determine the possible errors. The proposed graphic symbol modeling and management method have been applied in the energy management system in Shanghai. The experience shows that the proposed method can achieve better graphic symbol management and determine the possible connection errors.
